Imaginary Landscapes is a body of works directly connected via their titles to the homonymous music works of seminal composer John Cage. My primary intent is the creation of a sculptural ensemble, familiar to the audience yet at the some time otherworldly. Guided by this concept and using matter as my vehicle, I attempt to approach the borders separating imagination from the real world, fiction and dreams. To quote John Cage:
“It’s not a natural landscape. It’s a term for new technologies. It’s a landscape in the future. It’s like using technology to get you off the ground and go through the glass like Alice.”
